2015 Annual Auction
The spring fishing season is fast approaching and breakup is either here or just around the corner in many parts of Southcentral Alaska. AFF members have been hard at work preparing for AFF’s Annual Fundraising Auction - a perfect opportunity to purchase new gear at a great price while supports your local club. You may also sell some of the gear that is gathering dust or that you may want to upgrade. Please consider contributing these new or gently used fly fishing items to the Live and Silent Auctions or the Cash & Carry Fundraiser our upcoming event on April 17th.
To enter items into an auction or cash & carry, bring your items to the WJ Hernandez Fish Hatchery, 941 N. Reeve Blvd., on April 12-14. The schedule is as follows:
Sunday, April 12 Noon - 6pm
Monday, April 13 6pm - 9pm
Tuesday, April 14 6pm - 9pm
You may donate items to the club or sell items with a 10% sales fee to the Alaska Fly Fishers for handling the transaction.
We’re giving you a sneak peek at live and silent auction items on AFF’s Facebook event page. This is a great opportunity to get information on the lodge trips, guided day trips, rods, reels, waders, and jackets that are up for bid on April 17th. The page will be updated frequently, so please visit often. Remember, you do not have to have a Facebook account to view AFF’s Facebook page.
Volunteers are needed at the Hernandez Fish Hatchery April 12-16 to assist in processing auction items and on event night, Friday, April 17th from about noon until the close of the auction.
We need approximately twenty volunteers to assist in making the auction a success. Volunteer perks include advance viewing of the auction items, fellowship with other club members, and dinner the evening of the auction!
